The border-control system (SIGMU): the disputed tender
The Interior Ministry’s migration-control tender drew irregularity complaints, an annulled award, and a later award to Veridos now being litigated at the administrative court.

The finding
The renewal of the Interior Ministry’s migration-management system drew irregularity complaints: a first award was scrapped in 2020, and a new process — awarded to Mexico’s Veridos — was flagged by the audit court (bond posted late) and challenged with nullity actions at the administrative court (TCA). The US$2.10-per-passenger fee to fund it was also appealed.
As of July 2026 the case is administrative, not criminal. The audit court flagged the Veridos award and the Interior Ministry reaffirmed the spending on its own responsibility. There are nullity actions at the TCA (one "under analysis" in October 2025) and an appeal against the fee decree. There is no final ruling, conviction or criminal complaint on record.
